Path Community Guidelines

PATH Community Guidelines

PATH Community Forum is a space for honest conversation, personal growth, and meaningful connection. This forum exists to support reflection, accountability, and shared learning.

These guidelines are designed to protect the community’s integrity and ensure it remains respectful, safe, and purposeful. By participating, you agree to uphold them.

1. Support & Safety: Language Related to Self-Harm

The PATH Community recognises that members may at times be navigating deep personal challenges. We are committed to approaching these moments with care, responsibility, and clear boundaries.

If moderators or community leaders notice language that suggests self-harm, suicidal ideation, or immediate risk to personal safety, we will take this seriously.

What this may involve:

  • Reaching out privately to check in and offer support
  • Removing content if it poses a risk to the individual or the wider community
  • Encouraging the individual to seek professional or crisis support outside of the forum

    Important boundaries:
  • This community is not a substitute for professional mental health care
  • Members are not expected to act as therapists, counsellors, or crisis responders
  • We cannot provide emergency intervention

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please contact emergency services or a trusted professional right away.

UK Support Services:

  • Emergency services: Call 999
  • NHS 111: Urgent mental health support
  • Samaritans: 116 123 (free, 24/7) or samaritans.org
  • Shout: Text 85258 for free, confidential support 24/7

By participating in PATH, you acknowledge that moderators/community leaders may intervene when safety concerns arise, always with the intention of care, protection, and responsibility.

2. Be Respectful and Inclusive

PATH is built on mutual respect.

  • Treat all members with dignity, courtesy, and consideration
  • Speak to ideas and experiences rather than judging individuals
  • Use inclusive, non-demeaning language

Disagreement is welcome. Disrespect is not.

3. Engage with Intention and Integrity

This forum thrives on thoughtful contributions.

Before posting, ask yourself:

  • Does this add value?
  • Is it relevant to the discussion?
  • Am I speaking from my own experience rather than projecting onto others?

Inflammatory or off-topic posts may be removed to protect the quality of conversation.

4. No Harassment, Hate, or Bullying

The following will not be tolerated:

  • Personal attacks, threats, or intimidation
  • Harassment or targeting based on identity or background
  • Persistent or coercive behaviour

These behaviours undermine trust and safety and may result in immediate moderation action.

5. No Spam or Unsolicited Promotion

PATH is a community — not a marketing platform.

  • No spam, excessive self-promotion, or unsolicited advertising
  • Sharing resources is welcome only when genuinely relevant and supportive of the discussion

Moderators may remove promotional content at their discretion.

6. Respect Privacy and Confidentiality

Please honour personal boundaries.

  • Do not share personal contact details (yours or others’)
  • Do not repost private messages without consent
  • Treat what is shared here with care and discretion

Trust is foundational to this space.

7. Communicate Clearly and Thoughtfully

  • Avoid excessive capitalisation or aggressive formatting
  • Write clearly and with purpose
  • Be mindful of tone — written communication can easily be misinterpreted

Clarity and presence help everyone feel heard.

8. Respect Intellectual Property

Only share content you have the right to post.

  • Credit original creators where appropriate
  • Do not repost private, paid, or third-party material without permission

9. Reporting Concerns

If you see content that violates these guidelines or raises safety concerns:

  • Contact a moderator/ community leader directly

All reports are handled confidentially and taken seriously.

10. Moderation and Consequences

To protect the community, moderators may:

  • Remove or edit content
  • Issue warnings
  • Temporarily restrict participation
  • Permanently remove members in cases of serious or repeated violations

Actions are taken with context, fairness, and community wellbeing in mind.

11. A Living Community

PATH is a living, evolving community.

These guidelines may be updated as the community grows. Feedback is welcome when offered in good faith and aligned with our shared values of responsibility, growth, and respect.

Thank you for being part of PATH.
Your presence and integrity help shape the culture of this community.
